A Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is recognized as a standard unit of measure for attributing continuing education and training activities. The CEU is defined as 10 contact hours of instruction (which do not include breaks, meals or registration time).
The primary purpose of the CEUs is to provide a permanent record of an individual’s educational accomplishments. Awarding CEUs also provides a quality indicator for the continuing education and training programs, as it shows that these programs are complying with international standards.
