Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) Certification
Overview
DFSS program is intended for those who is driving breakthrough objectives and recognize how projects can be aligned to their corporation’s strategies and metrics. DFSS is not a single road map, but an embodiment of a menu of possible strategies, tactics and tools based on proven strategies.
This certification helps you master the modern methods to improve business operations and fully incorporate voice of customer into all business processes.
Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) is all about prevention, used by those working on the research, design and product development to ensure products are designed right the first time. All topics offered in the Black Belt training are applied to design of products, services and processes. This includes:
- Understanding the customer
- Cascading requirements down to sub-systems and components including the supply base
- Designing to reduce sensitivity to variation
- Designing for manufacturing capability
- Verification and validation
Prerequisites
Candidates should have a general understanding of business functions, have a college degree, very good level of English language, proficient in using MS office, experienced problem solvers, working on the research, design and development of products, processes and services.
Objectives
By completing DFSS Certification course, students will be able to:
- Participate in the development of a successful DFSS program.
- Design and plan for products, services and processes that reflects the voice of customer and exceeds customers’ expectations
- Lead a DFSS project team, using the proactive techniques and team building skills.
- Apply and interpret basic and advanced DFSS tools, as necessary, for project definition, process baseline analysis, process improvement, and process control.
- Demonstrate sufficient expertise of the DFSS Body of Knowledge on an appropriate certification exam.
Duration
Approximately 100 hours of instruction, equivalent to (10 CEU)
